Located at QF7M+HXC, Pedro Clisante 17, Sosúa 57000, this little gem is more than just a café; it's a perfect spot to indulge in some of the island's finest coffee, paired with delicious dishes that truly highlight the vibrant local culture.

The moment you step into Cafe Cubano, you’re greeted by the cozy, inviting atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where the sound of Latin music fills the air, and the aromas of freshly brewed coffee blend seamlessly with the sizzle of grilled meat on the stove. Whether you're popping in for a quick pick-me-up or settling in for a leisurely meal, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. It's easy to see why locals and tourists alike flock here for their daily caffeine fix or a taste of some traditional Dominican flavors.

One of the main draws of Cafe Cubano is, of course, their coffee. As the name suggests, Cuban-style coffee is the star of the show. Known for its strong, rich flavor, it’s brewed to perfection every time. Whether you prefer it sweetened with sugar or served straight, the coffee here is a must-try for any coffee lover. If you're in the mood to experiment, try a café con leche or a cortado, both of which offer a balanced, creamy take on the traditional Cuban brew.

But the café doesn’t stop at drinks; their menu is just as impressive. Expect to find a mix of local Dominican and Cuban dishes, each packed with bold flavors and made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. One of the standout dishes is the mangu, a traditional Dominican breakfast made from mashed plantains. At Cafe Cubano, it's served with eggs, salami, and cheese, offering the perfect balance of savory and comforting. Another favorite is their Cuban sandwich, which features layers of perfectly roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, all sandwiched between crispy, toasted bread. It’s the ideal combination of crunchy, tangy, and hearty flavors.

If you're in the mood for something lighter, there are plenty of options on the menu, such as fresh salads, fruit smoothies, and small tapas-style plates. You’ll also find a range of baked goods that pair beautifully with their coffee - from flaky pastries to indulgent cakes.

The service at Cafe Cubano is another reason why it’s become a favorite in Sosúa. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to recommend something new for first-timers. Whether you're a regular or a newcomer, you'll feel right at home. • They sell a wide variety of cigars. Even some authentic looking cubans. All in a climate controlled area. Saw oliva, la aurora, cao, ldf, pedron, Davidoff, arturo fuente and the dominican versions of cuban brands. As in most places the information from staff was limited. They follow you are to write down the prices but the cigars have bar codes so it seems to be an anti theft deterant. Prices are a bit high but I found some gems that are difficult to get where I live. Best selection in sousa and confidently located.

  • I don't drink coffee. I don't like coffee. I had to get coffee here because, hands down, the best coffee I've ever had. (And my husband gets coffee from around the world back home in the states.) I'd come here just for the coffee!

  • Great place for a coffee and snacks .. they also serve smoothies. They have a full bar serving all forms of alcohol ... Good place for watching the world go by ...can get a little noisy as it's road side but still nice place to sit ...best place in Sosúa to buy quality cigars ( no fakes) just quality.

    ENJOYING LIFE. (Verified)
  • This was a nice cigar bar, the staff didn't speak much English but still helped me and my girlfriend find some nice local cigars that weren't terribly expensive, which is harder to do than I originally expected. If you already have a favorite cigar they probably have it, but be prepared to spend more than it costs at home. Most of the higher end Dominican cigars had to be reimported, raising the price quite a bit. Also keep in mind the words fósforos and encendedor wherever you smoke in the Dominican as they mean matches and lighter respectively. The drinks were also well priced and well made, and we wished we'd had the opportunity to visit this bar a second time while we were in the Dominican. They had a large selection of both domestic and foreign alcohol, but I recommend sticking with Dominican drinks as you can have Johnnie Walker or Jack Daniels anywhere, but I really enjoyed their mojito and drank a Presidente almost everywhere we stopped on the island. The food looked delicious, but besides the bread pudding (which was just okay, not sweet or moist enough for my Southern palate) we stuck to the drink menu.

  • Café Cubano is by far our favourite coffee in the area. In fact, it may be our favourite coffee of all time! When my husband and I came back from Europe, we both agreed that the cafe con leche at Cafe Cubano was even better than any of the coffees we had tried on our six-week vacation across Europe and the Mediterranean. It is so delicious and I always choose to go here if I want a good cup! The location is right on the main road, so easy to walk to and easy to find. Expect it to be a little loud because of this reason, but you can’t really expect much else from downtown Sosua.
